CVS Health Foundation Health Care Careers Scholarship – Up to $20,000

Washington State Opportunity Scholarship – Baccalaureate Scholarship – Up to $22,500

The Washington State Opportunity Scholarship is a program intended to prepare students in Washington State to fill the state’s workforce shortages in trade, health care, or STEM fields. Its Baccalaureate Scholarship is open to students pursuing their bachelor’s degrees in STEM or health care fields. Applicants must be Washington State residents, have a high school diploma or GED from a Washington State institution, demonstrate financial need, have a GPA of at least 2.75 on a 4.0 scale or a passing GED score, plan to pursue an eligible science, technology, engineering, math (STEM) or health care major, and plan to attend or currently attend an accredited Washington State institution at least half-time.

Maxine Williams Scholarship – $1,000

Offered by the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), the Maxine Williams Scholarship is an annual prize awarded to students pursuing degrees in medical assisting. Applicants must be enrolled in a post-secondary program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) for at least one term and meet a minimum GPA requirement of 3.0.

Albert W. Dent Graduate Student Scholarship – $5,000

Established in honor of Albert W. Dent, the first African-American Fellow of American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE), the Albert W. Albert W. Dent Scholarship – $5,000

Administered by the Foundation of the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE), the Albert W. Dent Scholarship is annually awarded to minority and LGBTQ students enrolled in their final year of a healthcare management graduate program. Applicants must be “racially/ethnically diverse students” enrolled full-time in a healthcare management graduate program, and expect to graduate between Sept. 1, 2024 and Aug. 31, 2025. Additionally, applicants must be U.S. citizens or lawful permanent residents or Canadian citizens. Preference is given to Student Associates of ACHE.

Foster G. McGaw Graduate Student Scholarship – $5,000

Established in honor of Foster G. McGaw, the founder of the American Hospital Supply Corporation, the Foster G. McGaw Graduate Student Scholarship is meant to provide financial aid to students in healthcare management graduate programs to help offset tuition costs, student loans and expenses. Applicants must be a racially/ethnically diverse student enrolled full-time in a healthcare management graduate program – MHA, MPH, MBA in Healthcare Administration or similar, be entering their final year (fall/spring) of full-time study, demonstrate financial need, be a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident; or a Canadian citizen, among other things. The Crest Oral-B Laboratories Dental Hygiene Scholarship is awarded to dental hygiene students who have an interest in academic careers. Each applicant must be enrolled in a baccalaureate degree program or graduate degree program in dental hygiene at an American Dental Education Association (ADEA) Member Institution, be an ADEA member, and be committed to pursuing an academic career in dental hygiene.

ADHA Institute for Oral Health Scholarships – Up to $2,000

Applicants must be U.S. citizens, permanent residents, or noncitizen nationals; be enrolled in master’s or doctoral programs in psychology, nursing, social work, marriage and family therapy, mental health counseling, or substance use and addictions counseling; commit to enter careers in behavioral health services for ethnic and racial minorities who have a mental or co-occurring mental and substance use disorder immediately upon graduation. Applicants are not required to identify as ethnic minorities, but African Americans, Alaska Natives, American Indians, Asian-Americans, Hispanics/Latinos, Native Hawaiians, and Pacific Islanders are especially encouraged to apply. NBRC Gareth B. Gish, MS, RRT Memorial Postgraduate Education Recognition Award – $5,000

The American Respiratory Care Foundation and the National Board for Respiratory Care offers the NBRC Gareth B. Gish, MS, RRT Memorial Postgraduate Education Recognition Award, which awards up to $5,000 to a respiratory therapist pursuing postgraduate education leading to an advanced degree. The award includes a certificate of recognition, coach airfare, one night’s lodging, and registration for AARC Congress. Applicants must be a respiratory therapist with a minimum of 3.0 cumulative GPA on a 4.0 scale, or the equivalent.

NBRC William W. Burgin, Jr., MD and Robert M. Lawrence, MD Education Recognition Award – Up to $7,500

The American Respiratory Care Foundation offers the Morton B. Duggan Jr. Memorial Education Recognition Award. This scholarship is granted to a student enrolled in an accredited respiratory care education program. Preference for this award is given to candidates from Georgia and South Carolina, but applicants from all states are welcome to apply.

Winterhoff Arthritis Scholarship – $5,000 per year (renewable up to 4 years)

The Arthritis Champions Scholarship is annually awarded to students with arthritis or a related rheumatic disease. The ChiroHealthUSA Foxworth Family Scholarship is awarded to students pursuing careers as chiropractors. Applicants must be full-time students enrolled in a doctorate of chiropractic program at an accredited U.S. institution and hold a minimum 2.7 GPA.

Alice W. Rooke Scholarship – $5,000

The Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) offers a scholarship for students who are studying to be a medical doctor (excluding students who are pre-med, veterinarian, and physician assistant students). Applicants must be accepted to or enrolled in an approved course of study to become a medical doctor.

DAR Occupational/Physical Therapy Scholarship – $2,000

Offered by the Illinois Water Environment Association, the Environmental Career Scholarship is an annual prize awarded to physical or occupational therapy degree program students.
