Amount: $20,000. About: Offered by The San Diego Foundation, the Diana Venable Scholarship is a $20,000 award to provide for San Diego, making our program the largest non-university scholarship provider in San Diego County. Applicants must be juniors at a high school in the City of San Diego; must be currently or previously involved in a Rotary Club partnership or Rotary Interact Club at their high school (preference given to students who are or were involved in a Rotary Club partnership at Hoover High School, Monarch School or San Diego High School) must have a cumulative unweighted GPA of 2.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale; must plan to enroll full-time at an accredited four-year university or community college in the fall immediately after graduation; must be United States citizens; must be current college students (undergraduate or graduate); must be actively involved in serving their community as demonstrated by their involvement in extra-curricular activities, community service, work experience or other responsibilities; must be highly motivated to succeed; must have exemplary citizenship and attendance records; must have demonstrated financial need; must be adult re-entry students; must commitment to applicants education; must potential for success in college; must participation in community service, extracurricular activities and/or work experience; current residence in San Diego County (for at least one year); must need of help to pay for school (including middle-income families). 4 awards are made.
