Offered by the Asian Pacific Fund, the Chevron Filipino Employees Network Scholarship is an annual award offered to Asian or Pacific Islander students in California who are interested in science or engineering. Applicants must be incoming freshmen majoring in engineering, computer science, physical science, or environmental science. Additionally, applicants must be of Asian and/or Pacific Islander ethnicity as defined by the U.S. Census, be residents of California, meet a minimum 2.8 GPA requirement, and demonstrate financial need.

Brown and Caldwell Navajo Nation Scholarship – $1,000 per year for up to 4 years

Each year, Brown and Caldwell, an engineering consulting firm focused on the U.S. environmental sector, awards the Navajo Nation Scholarship to encourage and support students who are enrolled members of the Navajo Nation and have a desire to improve our world by developing their skills and knowledge in preparation for a career in the environmental profession. The winning students earn awards of $1,000 for up to four (4) years of schooling (for a total of $4,000) plus a laptop computer or tablet in their first award year. The awards are renewable only if the winners continue to meet the eligibility criteria..Applicants must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident; be a full-time student enrolled at an accredited two-year junior or four-year undergraduate college, or a senior in high school with a letter of acceptance from the college or university to be attended; have or intend to declare a major in civil, chemical, mechanical, electrical or environmental engineering or one of the environmental sciences (e.g. geology, hydrogeology, ecology); meet a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent on a 5.0 scale); and be an enrolled member of the Navajo Nation.

Wallace F. Pate Scholarship – $5,000

The Wallace F. Pate Scholarship is an annual prize awarded to a high school senior in South Carolina who intends to study a natural resource discipline at a college or university within the state. Applicants must be residents of South Carolina and plan to study wildlife, fisheries, forestry, biology, zoology, marine science, environmental science, or related fields at a South Carolina higher education institution.

SMART Scholarship for Service Program – $25,000-$38,000

Funded by the Department of Defense, the Science, Mathematics, and Research for Transformation (SMART) Scholarship for Service Program offers scholarships for undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral students who are currently pursuing a STEM degree. The program is open to citizens of the United States, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, or the United Kingdom. SMART scholars will receive full tuition, annual stipends, and guaranteed employment with the DoD after graduation.A full list of eligible STEM majors is available on the scholarship website. ACS Scholars Program – $1,000-$5,000

American Chemical Society Scholarships are annually awarded to minority students who are interested in pursuing careers in chemistry-related science. Applicants must be U.S. citizens or legal permanent residents, be African-American/Black, Hispanic/Latino, or American Indian, be graduating high school seniors or current undergraduate students, plan to major or currently be majoring in chemistry, biochemistry, chemical engineering, chemical technology, or another chemistry-related science, and meet a minimum 3.0 GPA requirement.

IWEA Clean Water Scholarship – Up to $1,000

Offered by the Illinois Water Environment Association, the Clean Water Scholarship is an annual prize awarded to an undergraduate and graduate students studying in a water-related field. Applicants must be Illinois residents or attend an accredited college or university in Illinois, have completed at least two years of college by the time they receive the award, be a full-time student enrolled in a water-related field of study, such as civil or environmental engineering, environmental science, or wastewater systems operation, and have a GPA of at least 2.5 on a 4.0 scale. Applications open in October each year.

LSP Association Scholarship Fund – $5,000

The Licensed Site Professionals Association (LSPA) annually awards scholarships to LSPA members and their family members in New England who are pursuing environmental careers. Applicants must be members or immediate family members of LSPA members, be enrolled in a degree program at an accredited New England college or university, and/or be Massachusetts residents who are enrolled in a public or private Massachusetts college or university pursuing a major that will lead to an LSP or environmental profession.

Ernest F. Hollings Undergraduate Scholarship – Up to $9,500 per year for 2 years

The Ernest F. Hollings Undergraduate Scholarship is an annual award program for students interested in oceanic and atmospheric science. Applicants must be U.S. citizens, be currently enrolled or accepted at an accredited college or university within the United States or a U.S. territory, have a GPA of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, and have and maintain a major in a field related to oceanic or atmospheric science. In addition to receiving scholarship money, recipients are able to work paid summer internships at National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration facilities across the United States.
