About:
The Asian Pacific Fund offers the Banatao Family Filipino American Education Fund to support California high school students of Filipino heritage who demonstrate excellence in math and science to pursue rewarding engineering and science careers where Filipino Americans are underrepresented. The $5,000 scholarship is reneewable for an additional three years for a total of $20,000. To qualify, students must be majoring in one of the following STEM fields: engineering, mathematics, computer science, environmental science, or a physical science. Those pursuing degrees toward a career in health or medicine do not qualify. Applicants must be a rising freshman (first-year) enrolled full-time at an accredited four-year college or university for the 2026-2027 academic year; meet a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0; be at least of 50% Filipino heritage; and be a California resident.
