About: Offered by Association for Iron and Steel Technology, the AIST Southeast Member Chapter – Gene Suave Scholarship is a $3,500 award to reward and encourage an AIST Southeast Chapter high school senior or college undergraduate student, preparing for a career in Engineering or the sciences, by providing a grant of financial support during attendance full or part time at any accredited university. Applicants must pursuing a career in engineering, the sciences or other majors relating to iron and steel production on the basis of GPA from a high school (senior applicants only), or an accredited college or institution; if there are no applicants in engineering or the sciences, other majors will be considered; consideration will be given for extracurricular activities and the student’s written essay; for members of the Material Advantage program who live in, or attend a university in, the Southeast Member Chapter area, children, stepchildren, grandchildren or spouses of active (dues paid) Southeast Chapter members for two consecutive years; must be accepted in an eligible full or part time course of study at an accredited university or college.; applicants must have an AIST Parent Member active in the AIST Southeast Member Chapter, or be an AIST Student Member through the Material Advantage Student Program, who lives in or attends a university within the Southeast Member Chapter area. applicants must be enrolled in, or planning to enroll in, a university for the fall semester at an accredited North American College or University, full-time as an undergraduate student.
