Krishnan-Shah Family Scholarship

Amount: $10,000. About: Offered by Silicon Valley Community Foundation, the Krishnan-Shah Family Scholarship is a $10,000 award to support local graduating seniors who are the first in their family to pursue postsecondary education. Applicants must be graduating high school seniors residing in the greater silicon valley region (includes Santa Clara county, San Mateo county, San Francisco county, alameda county and Santa Cruz county) or current community college students who graduated from a high school within the five listed counties; must be first generation college students (neither parent earned a four-year college degree), pursuing first undergraduate degree at a four-year college or university on a full-time basis in the upcoming fall session; must have a maximum 3.75 GPA; must show involvement in extracurricular activities or similar activities; must demonstrate financial need or hardship.
