Offered by General Board of Higher Education and Ministry, the Native American Seminary Scholarship is a $3,000 $10,000 award to offer financial aid to United Methodist students pursuing undergraduate and graduate degrees. Applicant must be an active, full member of The United Methodist Church for at least one year; Members of other Methodist denominations are not eligible; Applicants must be pursuing a degree program at an accredited institution within the U.S; High school students may apply if they will be college students in the fall term; Applicants must have a minimum GPA of 2.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale; Applicants are required to be full-time students according to their school’s standards for the program for which they are enrolled; designated for Native American students pursuing a degree at a University Senate approved seminary. Applicants must have a minimum of three years of membership in the UMC, be a certified candidate or pursuing candidacy and be born of Native American, American Indian or Alaska Native parent (at least one parent). Tribal affiliation and documentation is required.
