VFW Voice of Democracy Program

Amount: $30,000. About: Each year, the Veteran of Foreign Wars (VFW) runs its Voice of Democracy Program, which gives high school students the opportunity to compete for scholarship money by recording democratic and patriotic-themed audio essays. The contest is open to students in grades 9-12 enrolled in public, private, parochial school, or home study program in the U.S., its territories, or its possessions. Additionally, dependents of U.S. military or civilian personnel in overseas schools are also eligible to participate.

Minimum GPA: No GPA requirement
