Tennessee Promise Scholarship

Amount: Varies. About: Awarded since the academic year 2015-16, the Tennessee Promise Scholarship is meant for high school seniors who graduate from an eligible Tennessee high school, complete a homeschool program, or earn a GED or HISET diploma prior to their 19th birthday. Students must be U.S. citizens or eligible noncitizens, apply by the November deadline of their senior year or the year in which they obtained their GED/HISET, attend mandatory meetings, and participate in a mentoring program. To be eligible, students must enroll in an eligible postsecondary institution and participate full-time in the fall term following graduation or completion of a GED/HiSET diploma. The award amount varies based on tuition and mandatory fees after all other gift aid has been applied. To renew the scholarship, students must perform eight hours of community service prior to each term the award is received and meet a minimum 2.0 GPA.
