About: Offered by National Black Nurses Association, the NBNA Ebi Porbeni Memorial Scholarship by Be The Match is a $5,000 award to support nursing student members interested in pursuing a career in hematology and/or oncology and to support diversity in the medical community. Applicants must be a member of NBNA and a member of a local chapter (if one exists in their area, if a chapter does not exist within a 50-radius of applicant’s location they can join NBNA as a Direct Member); must be currently enrolled in a nursing program (LPN/LVN, ADN, RN-BSN, Generic BSN, Masters, Doctorate) and in good scholastic standing at the time of application; must have at least one full year of school remaining; NBNA member going back to school or who plans to be on faculty in a school of nursing; NBNA member going to become an LPN/LVN or RN (pre-licensure). 2 awards are made annually.
