About: Offered by United States Tennis Association Foundation, the Marian Wood Baird Scholarship is a $15,000 award to provide scholarships to deserving young individuals who have participated in the United States Tennis Association. Applicants must be high school seniors who have excelled academically, demonstrated achievements in leadership and participated extensively in an organized community tennis program; must demonstrate sportsmanship on and off the court; a student who is entering a four-year college or university program are eligible; demonstrate academic achievement (3.0 minimum GPA); perform community/volunteer service; priority given to students who participated in enrolled National Junior Tennis and Learning organizations (“NJTL Chapters”); demonstrate significant financial need (verified during two stage process; utilizing Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) information).
