Amount: $10,000. About: Awarded by John Edelman and Student Veterans of America®, the John Edelman Scholars supports education that promotes improved mental health to veterans and service-members. Each year, five scholarships of $10,000 each are awarded to high-performing student veterans pursuing degrees/careers in mental health counseling. Applicants must be enrolled, or intend to be enrolled, as an undergraduate or graduate student at a university for the upcoming year; be maintaining a strong academic performance; be pursuing a degree that will result in a career in mental health counseling or related field; be a current student veteran (includes members of the National Guard or Reserve) or have received an honorable discharge and is in good veteran standing.
Eligible Grade Levels: College Freshman, College Sophomore, College Junior, College Senior, Graduate Student
Eligible Majors: Behavioral Health, Psychology, Psychiatry, Social Work
Residency Requirement: No residency requirement
Minimum GPA: No GPA requirement
