About: Offered by Texas Music Educators Association, the Bill Cormack Scholarships is a $3,000 award to provide professional growth opportunities; to encourage interaction among music education professionals; to foster public support for music in school; to offer quality musical experiences for students; to cultivate universal appreciation and lifetime involvement in music; to develop and maintain productive working relationships with other professional organizations. Applicants must major in a music degree program leading to Texas teacher certification with music as the primary teaching field; Texas high school graduate must be entering as a full-time freshman, as defined by the attending institution, in a Texas college or university in the fall next year.
