Arkansas Teacher Opportunity Program (TOP)

Amount: Up to $3,000. About: The Arkansas Teacher Opportunity Program (TOP) awards up to $3,000 in reimbursement on the tuition, mandatory fees, books, and required supplies paid by Arkansas teachers, librarians/media specialists, guidance counselors, and administrators for six college credit hours completed. Applicants must be an Arkansas resident for at least 12 months prior to the application deadline; be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident alien; have and maintain a current teacher and/or administrator license with the Arkansas Department of Education; be employed as a classroom teacher, librarian/media specialist, guidance counselor, or administrator in Arkansas and intend to continue their employment in Arkansas; be enrolled in an approved institution of higher education in Arkansas; be enrolled in a college-level course(s) directly related to their employment; and have a minimum GPA of 2.5 in the course(s) funded by the TOP grant during the application period. Applicants must also provide a transcript for the relevant semester(s), an itemized statement of charges, and a copy of the paid receipts. Additionally, those seeking reimbursement for books they purchased need to supply a copy of the syllabus.
