Amount: Up to $15,000. About: Each year, the Perryman Family Foundation awards scholarships to hardworking and community-minded students pursuing certificates and two-year nursing programs as well as undergraduate degrees in nursing. For students pursuing a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) degree, an Associate Degree in Nursing, or completing an 18–24 month program to become a Registered Nurse (RN), typical scholarships range from $2,000 to $5,000 per year. For students pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), typical scholarships range from $10,000 to $15,000 per year. Students must plan to enroll in, or be accepted to, one of the following full-time nursing programs: BSN (Bachelor of Science in Nursing), LPN (Licensed Practical Nurse) / LVN (Licensed Vocational Nurse), ADN (Associate Degree in Nursing), and RN (Registered Nurse – 18-24 month programs). To qualify, applicants must be a U.S. citizen; be a current or prospective undergraduate student pursuing a full-time, 18-month, two-year, or four-year degree program in an eligible program of study; not be affiliated with the Perryman Company or Perryman Family Foundation through board service, current employment, or close relatives; and currently live in one of the listed eligible counties located in Western Pennsylvania, Eastern Ohio, Northern West Virginia, Northern Virginia, Western Maryland, or Chautauqua County, New York. Preference is given to applicants who attend, or plan to attend, a program, college, or university located in one of the eligible counties on the list; have a minimum GPA of 3.0 for a four-year program, or 2.5 for an 18-month or two-year program; have completed no more than five years of undergraduate studies; and provide a high school diploma or similar credential, such as a GED or a federally approved “Ability to Benefit” Test.
