About: Offered by AMVETS, the AMVETS Children and Grandchildren Scholarships is a $1,000 $4,000 award to provide deserving graduating high school seniors (child or grandchild) of an Honorably Served Veteran or Active-Duty members. Applicants must be a United States Citizen; must be the child or grandchild of an Honorably/General under Honorable Discharged conditions United States Veteran or Active Military to include National Guard and Reserves; must be a 12th Grader entering college during the Fall Semester within the year of graduation; must meet the AMVETS/FAFSA requires of a Regular Student; must be enrolled in an eligible degree program at an accredited four (4) year college or university (NO POST GRAD); must demonstrate financial need; must not be in default on a federal student loan; must agree to authorize AMVETS to publicize scholarship award. 3 awards are made annually.
