Eleftheria Scholarship of the Philadelphia VFW Post 6633

Amount: $5,000. About: Offered by Hellenic University Club of Philadelphia, the Eleftheria Scholarship of the Philadelphia VFW Post 6633 is a $5,000 award to recognize the importance of the VFW organization and the contributions of its members to our society and especially our Philadelphia community. Applicants must show good academic standing and evidence of Greek ancestry; must be pursuing undergraduate or graduate studies; no financial information needed; applicants have no residency requirement; must be children of the VFW Eleftheria Post 6633 of Philadelphia and their descendants; must be of Greek descent or a student who has declared major(s) in Hellenic studies (regardless of heritage); undergraduate scholarships require that in the following academic year, applicants must be a full time undergraduate student pursuing studies leading to a bachelor’s degree in an accredited four-year college, university, or professional school; this includes current undergraduate students who will not be graduating during the academic year and high school seniors applying to such schools; graduate scholarships require that in the next academic year, applicants must be enrolled in a full-time graduate program; high school seniors and applicants to graduate schools; even if at the time of application submission do not know which institution they will attend; prior recipients of Hellenic university club undergraduate scholarships can only reapply for an undergraduate scholarship after three years; e.g. if an undergraduate scholarship was received in before five year, the applicant is eligible to reapply only in before two year or later; prior recipients of Hellenic university club graduate scholarships can reapply for a graduate scholarship every other year but not the year after they received a graduate scholarship from the huc. e.g., if a graduate scholarship was received in before five year for the academic year before five year – before four year, the applicant may apply again in before three year, if they are expected to be a graduate student in before three year-before two year. 2 awards are made annually.
