About: Offered by James Beard Foundation, the James Beard Foundation Scholarship Program is a $20,000 award to assist aspiring and established culinary professionals who plan to further their education. Applicants must be a graduating high school senior; must be a United States citizen; must present evidence of financial need; must demonstrate a record of academic excellence; must demonstrate leadership potential and a dedication to community service; must plan to attend an accredited and JRF approved 4-year college/university within the United States or affiliated with a United States based college or university; must have not accrued more than 25% of credits needed to graduate from college.
