George E. McGuire Memorial Scholarship

Amount: $5,000. About: Offered by National Black Nurses Association, the George E. McGuire Memorial Scholarship is a $5,000 award to support for a nursing student whose focus is social justice. Applicants must be a nursing doctoral student or a nursing student in a master’s program of study; the candidate must be a NBNA member for at least two years; must have completed at least one full semester/quarter in a graduate program; and, must have at least one full semester/quarter to go to complete the program of study; must be a member of NBNA and a member of a local chapter (if one exists in applicants area); a chapter does not exist within a 50- mile radius of applicants location applicants may join NBNA as a direct member; candidate must be currently enrolled in a nursing program (LPN/LVN, ADN, RN-BSN, generic BSN, masters, doctorate) and in good scholastic standing at the time of application; applicant must have at least one full year of school remaining.
