About: Offered by Coastal Bend Community Foundation, the D.C. and Virginia Brown Scholarship is a $1,000 $2,200 $4,000 award to provide financial assistance to students in need. Applicants must be graduates of Mathis High School or Mathis High School students who have earned their GED certificate and who have good potential and character; must maintain a course-load of 12 semester hours; must maintain a 2.5 GPA. 4 awards are made annually.
