Black Community Scholarship

Amount: $3,000 $5,000. About: Offered by Greater Kansas City Community Foundation, the Black Community Scholarship is a $3,000 $5,000 award to provide scholarship support to African-American students from the Greater Kansas City area seeking educational advancement through a college or university degree or accredited certificate program in areas and fields. Applicants must be of African American heritage; must reside in the six-county Kansas City metropolitan area (Jackson, Platte, Clay and Cass counties in Missouri; Wyandotte and Johnson counties in Kansas); must be a graduating senior, a current college student, or an adult seeking educational or career advancement; must be attending or planning to attend a two- or four-year college or nonprofit technical school.
Eligible Grade Levels: Graduate Student, College Freshman, College Sophomore, College Junior, College Senior, Community College Student
Eligible Majors: All Majors
Residency Requirement: Kansas
Minimum GPA: 2
