About: Offered by American Association of People with Disabilities, the NBCUniversal Tony Coelho Media Scholarship is a $5,625 award to recognize students with disabilities who are passionate about increasing disability representation in the media, communications, or entertainment industries. Applicants must be currently enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate student and plan to continue applicant enrollment during the fall current year semester, or be a current high school senior and plan to enroll at a college or university during the fall current year semester self-identify as a person with any type of disability; be interested in pursuing a career in communications, media, or entertainment (all majors are welcome to apply, including computer science, engineering, information technology, statistics, etc.); be currently enrolled at a college or university in the United States or plan to enroll in a college or university in the United States during the fall current year semester; do not need to be a U.S. citizen in order to qualify. 8 awards are made annually.
