Applicants must be: a member of the U.S. Armed Forces or enrolled in a ROTC program, an honorably discharged veteran of the U.S. Armed Forces, or a direct descendant of an AFCEA member or an honorably discharged member of the Armed Forces; enrolled as a full-time college student at an accredited institution attending schools in or residing in the states of Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Florida, and Alabama, including community colleges; maintain a 2.8 GPA; and major in a STEM-related area of study. Each year, the scholarship has two deadlines: the spring scholarship opens in January and closes end of May and the fall scholarship opens in October and closes end of November.

Aubrey Lee Brooks Scholarships – Up to $12,000

Administered by the College Foundation of North Carolina (CFNC), Aubrey Lee Brooks Scholarships are available to graduating high school seniors in 14 counties of North Carolina. Applicants must be residents of Alamance, Bertie, Caswell, Durham, Forsyth, Granville, Guilford, Orange, Person, Rockingham, Stokes, Surry, Swain or Warren county, plan to enroll as a full-time, degree-seeking student at N.C. State University, UNC-Chapel Hill, or UNC-Greensboro, and demonstrate financial need.

NC Opportunity Scholarship – Up to $6,492

Administered by the North Carolina State Education Assistance Authority (NCSEAA), the Opportunity Scholarship is an income-based tuition assistance program for families making below a certain income threshold. It aims to help qualifying families pay tuition and fees at participating nonpublic or private schools. The scholarship amount will be the lesser of 90% of the required tuition and fees or a designated amount for the academic year ($6,492 for the 2023-24 academic year).
