About this internship
Tesla is hiring a Technical Editor intern for Service Engineering in Palo Alto, CA, for Winter/Spring 2026, in an on-site role. In this internship, you’ll help edit and create documentation that is accurate, complete, clear, specific, and as concise as possible. You’ll also communicate technical concepts to peers, people across the organization, and non-technical audiences. The pay range is $22.84–$31.97 per hour.
Qualifications
Required
- Pursuing a degree in Technical Writing or related field of study with a graduation date between April 2026 – December 2027
- Ability to edit and create documentation that is accurate, complete, clear, specific and as concise as possible
- Ability to explain technical concepts to peers, people from different parts of the organization and non-technical people
Nice to have
- Progress toward a degree in Technical Writing (or a closely related field) with an expected graduation date between April 2026 and December 2027.
- Strong attention to detail and a consistent approach to keeping documentation accurate, complete, and easy to follow.
- Ability to translate technical information into clear, concise language for both technical and non-technical readers.
- Comfort collaborating with peers and stakeholders from different parts of an organization to clarify requirements and resolve ambiguity.
- Good judgment about when to add needed specificity versus when to streamline content for concision.
