About this internship
Tesla is hiring a Data Engineer Intern (Energy) for Winter/Spring 2026 in Palo Alto, CA, with an on-site work model and pay ranging from $25-$50/hr. Qualifications
Required
- Pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent in experience
- Strong knowledge of SQL and Python
- Demonstrated experience building data pipelines using Airflow
Nice to have
- Experience writing efficient SQL queries and validating results with basic tests or sanity checks
- Comfort working with Python codebases, including debugging and reading existing scripts
- Familiarity with Airflow concepts such as DAG scheduling, dependencies, and retry behavior
- Attention to data quality, including handling missing values and documenting assumptions
- Clear communication when sharing pipeline status, issues, and changes with teammates
