About this internship
Tesla is offering a UX Design internship within its Design Studio for Winter/Spring 2026 in Hawthorne, CA. This is an on-site role in the automotive and electric vehicle industry, with an hourly pay range of $20-$50. Qualifications
Required
- Pursuing a degree in Graphic Design, UI/UX, Human-Computer Interaction or related field
- An excellent portfolio showcasing user experience, visual design and UI work with a strong design sensibility and excellent, user centric storytelling
- Excellent visual, UI, and interaction skills, ability to think through complex interaction design
Nice to have
- A portfolio case study format that clearly explains the problem, your process, and the impact of your design decisions.
- Examples that show strong interaction design thinking for complex user flows or multi-step tasks.
- Polished visual design fundamentals (layout, typography, color) applied consistently across UI screens.
- Evidence of iterative design, such as showing how you incorporated feedback or improved a concept over multiple versions.
- Ability to communicate design rationale succinctly, both in writing and when presenting work.
