BDO USA is hiring a Core Tax Associate intern for Summer 2026 in Wilmington, Delaware, working on site in the accounting and consulting industry. This role is geared toward students pursuing tax-related career paths and offers an annualized salary range of $66K–$85K/yr. To be considered, you’ll need a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Statistics (or another field with CPA certification) and be eligible to sit for the CPA exams, with progress toward a U.S. jurisdiction admission, IRS Enrolled Agent (EA), or an equivalent designation. Strong written and verbal communication skills are also required.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or Statistics required OR Bachelor’s degree in other focus area and CPA certification required
- Eligible to sit for the CPA exams
- progress towards admission to practice in a U.S. jurisdiction
- progress towards Internal Revenue Service Enrolled Agent (“EA”) (or progress towards the equivalent of one of these designations) upon starting employment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills

- Coursework or academic projects that demonstrate interest in taxation and applying tax rules to real-world scenarios
- Comfort communicating clearly in writing, including organizing details and summarizing findings for others
- Attention to detail and consistency when working with numbers, forms, and documentation
- Time-management skills to handle multiple tasks while staying on track with exam or designation progress
- Professionalism in an on-site environment, including collaborating with others and asking questions when needed
