About this internship
BDO is hiring a Core Tax Associate intern for Summer 2026 in Atlanta, GA, with an on-site work model. In this role, you’ll support tax work by preparing simple tax returns while building experience in an accounting and business development environment. Candidates should meet the degree and CPA/credential progress requirements and be eligible to sit for the CPA exams.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or Statistics required OR Bachelor’s degree in other focus area and CPA certification required
- Eligible to sit for the CPA exams
- progress towards admission to practice in a U.S. jurisdiction
- progress towards Internal Revenue Service Enrolled Agent (“EA”) (or progress towards the equivalent of one of these designations) upon starting employment
- Ability to prepare simple tax returns
Nice to have
- Coursework or experience related to taxation and individual or business returns.
- Strong attention to detail when working with numbers and documentation.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills for collaborating on tax-related tasks.
- Comfort learning and following established processes to complete tax return preparation.
- Time-management skills to balance multiple tasks during a busy season.
