  • The Power Skills complement the University’s employability-focused degree programmes with projects designed to solve real-world challenges
  • AI & Digital, Environmental Sustainability, Innovation & Entrepreneurship, and Inclusive Leadership will be taught on all undergraduate programmes. 

Aston University has launched four Power Skills designed to prepare students for successful global careers and navigate the exponential pace of change in the world.

The Aston Power Skills – AI & Digital, Environmental Sustainability, Innovation & Entrepreneurship, and Inclusive Leadership – will be studied by all undergraduate students joining Aston University from September 2025. These skills have been identified as part of Aston’s 2030 strategy and in response to knowledge of critical capabilities for the future of work developed through the University’s extensive partnerships with industry.

The Power Skills complement Aston University’s employability-focused degree programmes which feature hands-on learning, internships and real-world challenges. The University’s excellent student outcomes are clearly evidenced; it was named University of the Year for Student Success 2025 by the Daily Mail, was ranked second in the country for social mobility and its graduates are in the top 20 highest paid in the UK.

Postgraduate students benefit from the Aston Global Advantage which hones students’ professional acumen, career management and in-demand skills. The University’s PhD+ redefines what doctoral education means in the 21st century by providing students with industry-led research challenges combined with industry experience, preparing them to lead in technology-rich innovation economies worldwide.
