Write an essay surrounding the theme of immigration for a chance to win up to $1,000!

“For some, movement is an overwhelming ordeal. Not all of us choose to move. Some are forced from their homes against their will. There are more refugees now than at any point in human history. According to the United Nations refugee agency there are more than 65 million people who have had to leave their homes – either as refugees, asylum seekers, or to be displaced in their own countries.” – The Fountain Magazine

Eligibility:

  • This contest open to all writers worldwide.

How to Apply:

  • Applicants, in an essay, must consider the issues facing today’s immigrants. Are you an immigrant, too? Were your parents or grandparents immigrants? Are we all immigrants in this world? How do immigrants contribute to your society? How do they cause problems in your society? How would you help immigrants thrive?
  • Essay word count must be between 1,500 and 2,500.
  • Essays must be submitted as a Word document via the contest page.

Deadline: December 31

2nd place – $500

3rd place – $300

Two honorable mentions – $150 each
