Our Beautiful World

My mind is always racing, I can’t help it. I always dreamed to be the kind of person that just falls asleep at night the moment their head hits the pillow. Unfortunately for me it takes some time because I always need to think about what happened during my day, start to finish, and what I have planned for tomorrow. I can’t seem to fall asleep at the end of a busy day with the feeling of uneasiness or incompleteness lingering over my head… everything needs to be resolved. Now, this is most likely never going to happen because we do not, nor will we ever live in a perfect world: this is something that I finally (but slowly) have come to realize.

Facing the harsh realities that life has to offer every day is something that comes with the territory and is something that makes us grow as individuals. But, recently I think these harsh realities are slowly starting to become more then just lessons, they are starting to really scare me…

Growing up, I always knew and was taught that the world was a scary place. Not everyone has your best interests at heart, which was something that was always hard for me to grasp because I want to believe that everyone is a good person deep down. I really thought long and hard about this the other day… I was getting my nails done and sitting at the drying station, all of a sudden I hear the laughter of two 4 year old girls running towards me. I had never met these girls before and they came running up to me as if I was a life long friend, happy to tell me that they just got their nails done for the first time and that they just bought a new “Frozen” nightgown. Their happiness and laughter was contagious. Seeing their smiles and glow in their faces was something that made me so happy. I forgot about all the scariness in the world for just one moment and I was brought back to my own childhood…the innocent times. It is amazing to see how these children put their complete trust in me, which is something that I wish the rest of the world could do… The scary thing about this is that what is to stop these girls from going up to anyone on the street? Not everyone can be trusted…

Not everyone is a good person in this world. I wish everyone was, but unfortunately this is not the case. Be like these little girls and continue to be the good person. Make people laugh, do good deeds, and be the positive light in everyone’s life. A lot of people need this reminder nowadays. The good you do comes back to you…

Recently I have stopped watching the news… I am sick and tired of all of the scary things I see on TV. For once, just once I am asking to see something positive being reported. But no, this will never be the case because people don’t want to see the good that goes on in the world, they just want to see the bad, which makes me sick to my stomach. Seeing these reports on TV makes us all assume that this is only what goes on in the world, it makes people scared to live their day-to-day lives. It is great to be educated on these topics and it is great to enhance our safety, but is this the goal? To make people afraid to leave their houses and always assume the worst?

Ignorance is bliss my friends… you think these bad things only started happening in the world recently? Nope. Things like this have gone on since the beginning of time, but there was no reason to publicize it because issues got handled and that was that. But now, everyone needs to know about it and this plants seeds in people’s heads more than anything. Rather than wasting time reporting about it, get the ball rolling and fix the issues at hand.

My commute to work in the morning is the time for me to catch up on my social media, and there is not a day that passes where I don’t see some sort of post that is tearing someone down. I am all for freedom of speech, and especially with this upcoming election I am seeing a lot of this. It is great to be educated on different topics and I love learning new information that I didn’t know before. It is great to voice your opinion, but to a point… State the facts, state what is wrong with a current situation, but don’t pinpoint anyone or write anything offensive. That is defeating what you have sought out to express, you are only adding to the problem by doing this.

Sure we don’t life in a perfect world, but let’s celebrate what we have: We live with so much beauty surrounding us each and everyday… People tend to forget that. There are so many beautiful people that get lost in the shuffle of negative reports and discrimination. We are so fortunate and blessed with all of the opportunities that we have, but we just have to go out and find them. Let’s take a moment to remember what life really is. Life is not easy and it never was meant to be, no one gets a free handout. What happened to working hard for what you want? What happened to being proud of all of your fellow citizen’s achievements… If the rest of the world wants to continue to be negative, let them be. But you, I want you to take life for what it is and be part of the positive energy that this world needs at the moment.
