Scholarship Summary

DISH Promotions offers this $1,000 scholarship twice a year to eligible current college students and incoming freshmen.

Use your writing skills! Write a short essay and you could win a $1,000 scholarship.

Eligibility:

  • U.S citizen or permanent legal resident of the U.S
  • 2.5 GPA minimum for high school and college applicants
  • Incoming freshmen: Must have taken either the ACT or SAT test. You must also be a high school or home school senior graduating or earning a GED between January 1 and August 1 of the current year. Musr be attending an accredited college or university by the upcoming Fall semester .
  • A current college student must be enrolled full-time at an accredited college or university between January 1 and December 31 of the current year.

How to Apply:

  • Write a 600-1000 word essay on the following topic: Using psychological and sociological principles, attempt to understand and explain this issue: What makes watching a sporting event live more valuable than watching it pre-recorded, and why is this different from most other programming?
  • Use two professional sources(not Wikipedia) in your essay.
  • Use perma.cc if you choose to use online sources and use MLA citation style for your work. Citations are not included in the word count limit.
  • Complete their online form.
