Hello, lovelies! Today I will be sharing a list of 10 things to do outside this summer while in Philly for those of you who like the outdoors and the fresh air and whatnot. Dip your feet into the water and watch your summer heat up with these fun (and cheap) outdoor activities! 😉
Longwood Gardens
Featuring 300 acres of breathtakingly beautiful gardens, Longwood has a mixture of outdoor and indoor areas to explore. Also, make sure to check out the Nightscape: A Light and Sound Experience event opening August 3, 2016.
Hours: 9 a.m. – 6 p.m. Sunday-Wednesday; 9 a.m. – 10 p.m. Thursday-Saturday
Admission: $10 to the gardens with student ID or Nightscape admission (includes all-day garden access) for $27

Bartram’s Garden
Take a relaxing stroll through the gardens. Listen to live performances, take free Saturday kayak and rowboat rides, and an occasional free movie night.

Franklin D. Roosevelt Golf Course
A 6,004-yard course provides a challenging experience for players of all skill levels. Invite a few friends for a competitive game or unwind with a casual game day instead.

Admission: $25 fee for 18 holes, rates vary.

Bardascino Park
Come to the park for a competitive bocce ball tournament, listen to public concerts, and enjoy the fresh air. It’s the perfect place to relax, read a book, or get active with sports with your friends.

Elmwood Park Zoo
About a 40 minute drive away from Philly, the Elmwood Park Zoo is definitely worth the commute. Exotic and endangered reptiles, amphibians, birds, fish, and mammals are all present at this zoo.
Hours: 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. Monday-Sunday
Admission: $14.95 with valid student ID
Location: 1661 Harding Blvd, Norristown, PA
The Circuit Trails
Still a work in progress, the Circuit Trails will eventually be 750 miles of connected trails for hiking, biking, and walking. The sights to see on the trails definitely makes them the perfect place to go for your morning or weekend workout.

Chamounix Equestrian Center
Chamounix offers riding lessons for beginners, intermediate, and advanced students. Just none of that horse play, okay?
Hours: lessons offered Wednesdays and Fridays-Sundays
Admission: around $40/hr for lessons

Nockamixon State Park
Located just outside Philly, the state park offers hiking, biking, fishing, boating, picnicking, and a swimming pool for visitors.
Hours: Open 7 days a week
Admission: Free entry, swimming pool fee $7 for in-state residents

Spring Mountain
Be adventurous and treat yourself with a canopy tour above the trees through a series of zip lines and rope bridges. Other outdoor activities are also available in this fun wilderness.

Washington Avenue Pier
Take a walk across the Delaware River and experience events such as free yoga on the waterfront, concerts, and screenings under the stars.
