The Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) is an intercollegiate athletic organization of higher education institutions from Pennsylvania,New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, and the District of Columbia. Established in 1961, the CACC has become one of the most respected intercollegiate athletic organizations in the region, reflecting its broad commitment to excellence in all facets of intercollegiate athletics.
History Of The CACC
The CACC was founded in 1961 with the merger of two smaller regional conferences – the Pennsylvania Athletic Conference and the Delaware Valley Collegiate Conference. It was initially established to provide a competitive intercollegiate sports scene, and has since grown to become a prominent fixture in the mid-Atlantic region. The CACC has since grown into the second larger NCAA Division II conference, boasting 14 member institutions across the mid-Atlantic region.
Member Institutions
The member institutions of the CACC are: Chestnut Hill College, Georgian Court University, Goldey-Beacom College, Holy Family University, Jefferson (Philadelphia University + Thomas Jefferson University), Nyack College, Philadelphia University, Post University, Dominican College, Concordia College, Caldwell University, Wilmington University, and Felician University. These institutions compete for conference titles in 18 various sports – 10 men’s sports and 8 women’s sports, including basketball, baseball, lacrosse, and soccer, among others.
Notable Achievements
The CACC is proud to have produced some of the best collegiate athletes in its 59 year history. The conference has seen teams from its members institutions have significant success in many of its sports. In men’s basketball, 12 different CACC teams have made the NCAA Division II tournament. In baseball, a remarkable 17 teams have made it to the NCAA Tournament. In track and field, numerous CACC athletes have set records and earned All-American status.
Conference Rivalries
The CACC is home to some of the most intense and exciting intra-conference rivalries. In men’s basketball, the rivalry between Jefferson and Philadelphia University has been a fiercely-contested rivalry since the two schools combined. In baseball, the rivalry between Felician College and Caldwell University is one that has been ongoing for many years. Other rivalries are found in lacrosse, baseball, and soccer, among others.
Conference Governance
The CACC is governed by its member institutions and administered by an Executive Board, which is comprised of 11 members – one from each member institution. The Executive Board is responsible for making decisions on policy, conference scheduling, championship events, and other matters. The CACC also has several committees which help to ensure the organization and execution of conference events and activities.

The CACC hosts an array of championship events in its various sports. These include the CACC Men’s and Women’s Basketball Tournament, the CACC Baseball Tournament, the CACC Women’s Soccer Tournament, and the CACC Men’s and Women’s Cross-Country Championships.
