Oracle is offering a GenAI PhD Applied Scientist Intern opportunity within Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), in the data governance and data management industry. This remote internship is based in the United States and pays $19–$38 per hour. You must be enrolled in a PhD program during the 2025–2026 school year in a relevant technical field and have experience in at least one core computer science area such as NLU, computer vision, machine learning, deep learning, optimization, or data science.
Qualifications
Required
- Will be enrolled in a PhD degree in Computer Science, Linguistics, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Operations Research, or related technical field during the 2025-2026 school year
- Experience in one area of computer science (e.g., Natural Language Understanding, Computer Vision, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Algorithmic Foundations of Optimization, Data Science, or similar areas)
- Strong publication record, including as a lead author or reviewer, in top-tier journals or conferences
Nice to have
- Evidence of impactful research contributions, such as a strong publication record with lead-author work or experience reviewing for top-tier venues.
- Clear ability to explain complex technical ideas in writing, aligned with producing publishable research.
- Experience applying methods from one specialty area (e.g., NLU, computer vision, ML, optimization, or data science) to real-world problem settings.
- Comfort collaborating with others on research projects, such as co-authoring papers or coordinating with peers on experiments.
- Strong foundational reasoning in algorithms, statistics, or applied mathematics consistent with PhD-level research work.
