Qualifications
Required
- Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or Statistics required OR Bachelor’s degree in other focus area and CPA certification required
- Eligible to sit for the CPA exams
- progress towards admission to practice in a U.S. jurisdiction
- progress towards Internal Revenue Service Enrolled Agent (“EA”) (or progress towards the equivalent of one of these designations) upon starting employment
- Ability to prepare simple tax returns
Nice to have
- Coursework or academic projects in taxation or related accounting topics
- Progress already made toward CPA exam eligibility and a clear plan to continue toward licensure
- Interest in pursuing the IRS Enrolled Agent (EA) designation (or an equivalent tax credential)
- Comfort reading instructions and applying them carefully when preparing simple tax returns
- Strong attention to detail and organization when working with numbers and documentation
