BDO USA is hiring a Core Tax Intern for Winter 2027 in Detroit, MI, with a hybrid work model and pay of $30-$41 per hour. In this accounting and consulting internship, you’ll likely support core tax work while building skills relevant to a future CPA path. You must be enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Accounting (or a related field), actively pursuing CPA-eligible school credits, and be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Qualifications
Required
- Enrolled in a Bachelors or Masters program in Accounting or other relevant field required
- Actively pursuing school credits to become a CPA
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel and PowerPoint

- Strong attention to detail when working with numbers, documents, and deadlines.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills for sharing updates and asking questions.
- Comfort organizing files, tracking tasks, and following consistent processes.
- Ability to learn new tax concepts quickly and apply feedback from reviewers.
- Confidence using Excel for basic data cleanup, formatting, and calculations.
