Core Tax Associate – Summer 2026 (Atlanta)
About this internship
BDO USA is hiring a Core Tax Associate for Summer 2026 in Atlanta, working on site at 1180 Peachtree St NE. In this role, you’ll support core tax work and be expected to prepare simple tax returns. Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Statistics, or a bachelor’s in another area with CPA certification, and be eligible to sit for the CPA exams. You’ll also need to be making progress toward admission to practice in a U.S. jurisdiction and/or progress toward an IRS Enrolled Agent (EA) designation (or an equivalent) upon starting employment.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or Statistics required OR Bachelor’s degree in other focus area and CPA certification required
- Eligible to sit for the CPA exams
- progress towards admission to practice in a U.S. jurisdiction
- progress towards Internal Revenue Service Enrolled Agent (“EA”) (or progress towards the equivalent of one of these designations) upon starting employment
- Ability to prepare simple tax returns
Nice to have
- Coursework or experience that helps you prepare simple tax returns with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills for documenting tax work and asking questions when requirements are unclear.
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks while working on site in Atlanta.
- Comfort working with numbers and applying basic accounting, finance, economics, or statistics concepts to tax-related tasks.
- A plan to continue progress toward CPA exam readiness, admission to practice in a U.S. jurisdiction, and/or the IRS EA designation after you start.
