BestColleges, an online provider of education resources, is accepting applications for its STEM Pathways Scholarship.
The scholarship is meant to support students who have raised awareness of science, technology, engineering or mathematics in communities traditionally underrepresented in STEM fields by way of their extracurricular activities and academic accomplishments.
“At BestColleges, we believe that breaking down barriers in STEM leads to better outcomes for students and for the future,” said BestColleges Editor Lorraine Mumby. “Our goal in offering the scholarship is to help ease the financial roadblocks to success in these fields.”
The initiative reflects BestColleges’ promise to “make a difference in education.”
The company will award up to five scholarships in the amount of $6,000 each.
The scholarship is open to students who have been admitted to or will be enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate program at an accredited college or university in the United States for the 2025-26 academic year.
Applicants must also be a legal resident of the 50 U.S. states or the District of Columbia, be at least 17 years of age and be pursuing a STEM-related field.
To apply, those interested must submit an essay detailing how they have contributed or intend to contribute to raising awareness of STEM fields in underrepresented communities through their activities, leadership and service. The essays must be original and not exceed 500 words.
Students who qualify can apply here. Applications are due by July 31, 2025.
