2026 Golden 1 Scholarship Is Open for Applications

Golden 1 Credit Union is now accepting applications for its 2026 Golden 1 Scholarship.

Launched in 2013, the scholarship supports students pursuing higher education in California.

“This program invests directly in California students and Golden 1 members, helping them reach their full potential while strengthening the communities we serve,” said Erica Taylor, Senior Vice President of Community Impact and Public Relations Officer for Golden 1 Credit Union. “We’re proud to support the next generation of leaders and changemakers by expanding opportunities in higher education.”

The scholarship is open to Golden 1 members and dependents of eligible Golden 1 employees.

Golden 1 will award up to $1,200 annually to full-time community college students and up to $5,000 annually to four-year university students in California.

The scholarship is renewable so students attending a community college may renew for one additional year, while students in a four-year institution may renew for up to three additional years, provided that they meet the renewal criteria.

To qualify for this scholarship, students must plan on attending an accredited nonprofit, two-year community college or four-year college/university in California as a full-time student for the 2026-27 academic year, possess a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 3.0, and have a minimum of 24 hours of community service or 24 hours of employment in the past 12 months. Additionally, at the time they apply, students must be either a Golden 1 member or a dependent of a Golden 1 employee.

To apply, students must submit a completed application, which includes an essay on how receiving a Golden 1 Scholarship will make a meaningful difference for the student and/or their family.

Applications are due by January 31, 2026.
