About: The Coastal Virginia Building Industry Association (CVBIA) offers a scholarship for high school seniors in the Tidewater area, including Chesapeake, Eastern Shore of Virginia, Franklin, Norfolk, Portsmouth, Southampton County, Suffolk, Virginia Beach, Hampton, Newport News, Poquoson, Williamsburg, and the counties of Gloucester, Isle of Wight, James City, Mathews, and York. Applicants must demonstrate financial need and must begin a four-year degree in the fall immediately after high school graduation. Applicants who intend to start their degree program at a two-year college are also eligible, so long as they are full-time students and transfer to a four-year program after the completion of the two-year program.
