The CNOOC Petroleum U.S.A. Inc. Scholarship Program supports the higher education journey of the Company’s U.S.-based employees’ dependents.
Scholarship Amount: Two (2) awards in the amount of $3,000 each
Eligible Recipients: This scholarship is open to high school seniors or high school graduates who plan to enroll and current undergraduate students who are enrolled full-time at an accredited U.S. two- or four-year college or university for the 2024-25 academic year, who reside in the United States.
To be eligible, applicants must be dependents* of full-time** employees of CNOOC Petroleum U.S.A. Inc. who meet the following terms:
- Applicant’s parent/guardian must be a current employee of CNOOC Petroleum U.S.A. Inc. at the start date of the scholarship.
- Applicant’s parent/guardian must be employed with CNOOC Petroleum U.S.A. Inc. at the time of award announcement.
*Dependents mean son, daughter, stepson, stepdaughter, legally adopted child or legal ward supported solely by the guardian.
**Full-time employees are regular-time employees who are scheduled to work more than 30 hours per week on a regular basis.
Scholarship Requirements: Applicants must submit an essay of 350 words or more describing ONE of the following:
- What community means to them;
- Lessons they learned from being part of a community;
- How their community helped them overcome a challenge;
- How they discovered community through a team or part-time job they were involved with; or
- How they contributed, through their volunteering efforts, to a community.
Applicants must also fill out a simple online application that will capture all of the relevant information for the scholarship submission, including the essay entry.
