Providence Management Company, LLC created the Providence Real Estate Diversity Scholarship this year to support students interested in exploring a real estate career. 

The company has been involved as an owner, operator, manager and asset manager of multi-family residential communities across the country for more than 35 years.

“Providence believes that higher education is a critical element in achieving success in the real estate industry,” said Providence’s CEO Alan Pollack. “While no one factor can alone propel a person into the professional real estate ranks, education can provide crucial tools for overcoming adversity to achieve professional goals.” 

The company is looking to award one $5,000 award this inaugural year. 

“We all have a part to play to ensure that every hardworking American has an opportunity to pursue success, and Providence believes that The Providence Real Estate Diversity Scholarship can play a part in more fully extending our collective American dream thus making the world a better place,” said Providence’s Executive Vice President Kevin Finkel.

The scholarship is open to high school seniors, undergraduate and graduate students in accredited U.S. colleges and universities who identify as Black, Latinx, Asian American, Native American, or Pacific Islander American, reside in the United States, have reached the minimum age of 17, plan on attending a post-secondary institution in the United States in the upcoming academic year, and are interested in exploring a career in real estate.

However, according to the eligibility criteria, while residents of Providence communities are eligible to apply, Providence’s employees are not.

Those interested in the scholarship must apply by December 31, 2021. To apply, students must submit an essay of 500 words or more on why they are interested in a real estate career.
