Applicants must plan to enroll in, or be accepted to, a full-time program with a direct connection to the practical use of science, technology, engineering, or mathematics. To qualify, applicants must be a U.S. citizen; a current or prospective student pursuing a full-time program in an eligible program of study; not be affiliated with the Perryman Company or Perryman Family Foundation through board service, current employment, or close relatives; and currently live in one of the listed eligible counties located in Western Pennsylvania, Eastern Ohio, Northern West Virginia, Northern Virginia, Western Maryland, or Chautauqua County, New York.
