Truman Scholarship Program annually provides generous scholarships to third-year college students who plan to attend graduate school in pursuit of a career in public service. The program is selective and has an extensive list of criteria that students should meet. However, there are only two legal requirements that applicants must meet. Applicants must U.S. citizens or U.S. National residents of American Samoa, (or expecting citizenship by the date of the award) and be full-time students pursuing a bachelor&#8217;s degree in their penultimate year of school (for candidates graduating in four years or more) or in their final year of school (for candidates graduating in three years or fewer).
