<\/div>\r\n\r\nAbout: <\/strong>\r\n The U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs sponsors the Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship Program, which provides funding for U.S. citizens who require financial assistance to study or intern abroad. To be eligible for the Gilman Program, applicants must be an undergraduate student in good standing at an accredited institution of higher education in the United States (including both two-year and four-year institutions), be receiving a Federal Pell Grant during the time of application or provide proof that they will be receiving a Pell Grant during the term of their study abroad program or internship, and be in the process of applying to, or accepted to, a credit-bearing study abroad or internship program. Veterans of military service are encouraged to apply, and preference is given to veterans when other factors are equivalent. Students can study and intern abroad during the spring, summer, fall, winter, or academic year term. Each year, the Gilman program offers two deadlines: October and March. The October deadline applies to study abroad or internship programs that run between December 1 to October 31. The March deadline applies to studying or interning abroad programs between May 1 and April 30. Please note also that the application deadline is in Pacific Time (PT).\r\n\r\n
