<\/div>\r\n\r\nAbout: <\/strong>\r\n The Ben Carlson Memorial Scholarship remembers the life of Ben Carlson by awarding scholarships to students who share his former occupation and passions. Applicants must have, in the past or present, participated in a junior lifeguard program or have been employed as an open water lifeguard, and must “demonstrate a strong work ethic, independence, academic rigor and promise, athleticism, and service to the community.” Additionally, applicants must be college-bound high school seniors, or current undergraduate students, who will be enrolled as full-time students at a four-year institution for the upcoming year. High school students must meet a minimum GPA requirement of 3.2 on a 4.0 scale, and undergraduate students must meet a minimum GPA requirement of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.\r\n\r\n
