<\/div>\r\n\r\nAbout: <\/strong>\r\n The Ascend Educational Fund (AEF) awards scholarships worth up to $20,000 of each year to immigrant students and children of immigrants graduating from New York City Schools. Applicants must be born outside of the United States or have two parents born outside of the United States, be a graduating high school senior from one of the five high schools in New York City, and enroll full-time at an accredited public or private college or university. This program is a two-part process involving an application by the student and recommendation letters submitted by any adult who is familiar with the student\u2019s community service and leadership activities, such as a teacher, counselor, supervisor at work or a community leader. Applications open in November and closes in February each year.\r\n\r\n
