<\/div>\r\n\r\nAbout: <\/strong>\r\n The Family Empowerment Scholarship for Students with Unique Abilities (FES UA) is one of two pathways provided by the Family Empowerment Scholarship (FES) to empower families and children in Florida to achieve their educational goals. The FES UA is available to Florida students \u2013 ages 3 through 12th grade, or up to age 22 \u2013 with special needs. A qualifying disability includes anaphylaxis, autism spectrum disorder, cerebral palsy, deaf or hearing-impaired, Down syndrome, dual sensory-impaired, emotional or behavioral disability, intellectual disability, language-impaired, muscular dystrophy, orthopedic impaired, Phelan-McDermid syndrome, Prader-Willi syndrome, rare disease (as defined by the National Organization for Rare Disorders), speech impairment, specific learning disability, spina bifida, traumatic brain injury, or Williams syndrome. Students ages 3-5 who are deemed \u201chigh risk\u201d because of developmental delays may also qualify. Families have the option to either enroll their student in another public school, or receive access to funds in an education savings account (ESA) for their student that they can use for private school tuition and fees, online learning programs, private tutoring, community college costs, higher education expenses, and other approved customized learning services and materials. Eligible families can apply for the scholarship (and annually renew) through an approved scholarship funding organizations (SFO) responsible for determining and distributing funding under the program.\r\n\r\n
