We have compiled a list of 11 scholarships specifically for Black students in STEM, providing opportunities for financial assistance and recognition for their achievements in these fields. These scholarships not only aid in reducing the financial burden of higher education, but also serve as a means to promote diversity and inclusion in STEM. Let&#8217;s take a closer look at these 11 scholarships and how they can help Black students achieve their academic and career goals.<\/p>\r\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.tun.com\/scholarships\/brown-and-caldwell-minority-scholarship-program\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Brown and Caldwell Minority Scholarship Program<\/a> &#8211; $5,000<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Each year, Brown and Caldwell, an engineering consulting firm focused on the U.S. environmental sector, offers a Minority Scholarship to financially support students pursuing careers in the environmental profession. Each applicant must identify as a member of a minority group, be U.S. citizens or permanent residents, be enrolled in their junior or senior year of undergraduate study or in graduate study at an accredited college or university, have a declared major in civil, chemical, mechanical, electrical, or environmental engineering or one of the environmental sciences, and meet a minimum GPA requirement of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.tun.com\/scholarships\/hubertus-w-v-willems-scholarship\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Hubertus W. V. Willems Scholarship<\/a> &#8211; $3,000<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Hubertus W. V. Willems Scholarship is one of many awards available to Black male students through NAACP&#8217;s Inspire Initiatives. Each year, $3,000 is awarded to 25 outstanding students pursuing undergraduate degrees. Applicants must be a member of the NAACP; be a Black or African American male; be currently enrolled full-time or accepted to an accredited college or university in the United States; be a graduating high school senior, current undergraduate or graduate student; possess a GPA of 3.0 or above on a 4.0 system; demonstrate interest in pursuing a career in the field(s) of engineering, chemistry, physics, and\/or mathematical sciences; demonstrate financial need; and be a U.S. resident or citizen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.tun.com\/scholarships\/nscs-scholarship-for-minority-students-in-stem\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">NSCS Scholarship for Minority Students in STEM<\/a> &#8211; $2,500<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The National Society of Collegiate Scholars (NSCS) Scholarship for Minority Students in STEM is annually awarded to four minority students majoring in STEM fields. Applicants must be NSCS members and have a GPA of 3.0 or higher. Recipients are chosen based on their commitment to academics, leadership, and service.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.tun.com\/scholarships\/american-association-of-blacks-in-energy-scholarship\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">American Association of Blacks in Energy Scholarship<\/a> &#8211; Up to $5,000<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The American Association of Blacks in Energy (AABE) offers scholarships for underrepresented minority students (Black or African American, Hispanic, and Native American) studying energy-related fields, including business, a physical science, technology, engineering, or mathematics. Each year, 13 scholarships are awarded: 12 scholarships of $3,000 and one scholarship of $5,000 &#8212; the $5,000 award is renewable for up to 4 years if the recipient maintains the required minimum GPA andan eligible major). Applicants must be a high school senior who intends to enroll next semester in an accredited college or university; have an unweighted academic average of B or better (3.0 on 4.0 scale); be pursuing a major in business, one of the physical sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics field; and identify as an underrepresented minority (Black or African American, Hispanic, or Native American).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.tun.com\/scholarships\/acs-scholars-program\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">ACS Scholars Program<\/a> &#8211; $1,000-$5,000<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">American Chemical Society Scholarships are annually awarded to minority students who are interested in pursuing careers in chemistry-related science. Applicants must be U.S. citizens or legal permanent residents, be African-American\/Black, Hispanic\/Latino, or American Indian, be graduating high school seniors or current undergraduate students, plan to major or currently be majoring in chemistry, biochemistry, chemical engineering, chemical technology, or another chemistry-related science, and meet a minimum 3.0 GPA requirement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.tun.com\/scholarships\/ralph-w-shrader-graduate-diversity-scholarship\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Ralph W. Shrader Graduate Diversity Scholarship<\/a> &#8211; $3,000<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Offered by the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association (AFCEA), the Ralph W. Shrader Graduate Diversity Scholarship is annually awarded to high-performing graduate STEM students who are members of underrepresented demographics. Applicants must be women or minority students &#8220;enrolled in their second semester and at least two semester-equivalent courses per semester at an accredited college or university in the United States.&#8221; Additionally, applicants must be U.S. citizens, meet a minimum 3.5 GPA requirement, and be pursuing a &#8220;STEM\/hard science&#8221; degree.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.tun.com\/scholarships\/afcea-undergraduate-diversity-scholarship\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">AFCEA Undergraduate Diversity Scholarship<\/a> &#8211; $3,000<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association (AFCEA) annually offers the AFCEA Undergraduate Diversity Scholarship. Applicants must be women or minority students, be U.S. citizens or permanent residents, be at least second-year college students enrolled full-time in a four-year college or university, be majoring in STEM fields, and meet a minimum 3.0 GPA requirement. Students attending HBCUs are particularly encouraged to apply. Applications will be accepted starting mid-January.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.tun.com\/scholarships\/ams-scholarship-for-underserved-communities-formerly-minority-scholarship\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">AMS Scholarship for Underserved Communities (formerly Minority Scholarship)<\/a> &#8211; $6,000<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The American Meteorological Society (AMS) offers scholarships for students who have been traditionally underrepresented in the sciences, especially Hispanic, Native American, and Black\/African American students. Applicants must be graduating high school seniors who are planning to pursue a career in the atmospheric, oceanic, or hydrologic sciences (excluding marine biology). Applicants must be U.S. citizens or hold permanent resident status and have a minimum 3.0 GPA.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.tun.com\/scholarships\/expanding-representation-in-geosciences-erg-scholarship\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Expanding Representation in Geosciences (ERG) Scholarship<\/a> &#8211; $1,500<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Expanding Representation in Geosciences (ERG) Scholarship is an annual award for minority undergraduate students who are interested in the geosciences. Each applicant must be a U.S. citizen and a member of an underrepresented group, have taken at least two introductory geoscience courses, be enrolled in geoscience course for the upcoming semester, and be a current undergraduate student member of the Geological Society of America (GSA).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.tun.com\/scholarships\/raytheon-intelligence-space-underrepresented-minorities-in-cybersecurity-scholarship\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Raytheon Intelligence &#038; Space Underrepresented Minorities in Cybersecurity Scholarship<\/a> &#8211; $10,000<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Administered by the Center for Cyber Safety and Education, the Raytheon Intelligence &#038; Space Underrepresented Minorities in Cybersecurity Scholarship is annually awarded to three students from historically underrepresented minorities in STEM. Applicants must belong to a historically underrepresented minority in STEM, including but not limited to women, Black, Native American, Asian American &#038; Pacific Islander, Hispanic, LGBTQ+, people with disabilities; be a high school senior, undergraduate or graduate student (PhD students are excluded); be U.S. citizens; be pursuing a degree in cybersecurity, information security or similar field; meet a minimum 3.3 GPA requirement; be attending a college or university full-time or part-time; and be attending on-campus or online.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.tun.com\/scholarships\/blacks-at-microsoft-scholarship\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Blacks at Microsoft Scholarship<\/a> &#8211; $20,000 (disbursed over 4 years), $2,500 (one-time)<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Each year, Microsoft awards scholarships to Black and African American students to help them attend college and pursue careers in technology.
